Yummy dinner I had last night. Those are crab + char siew meatball above. The soup has crab meat and mushroom in it and taste close like shark fin soup, only better. Mum also made these yam kuih. Besides these, she also prepared steamed chicken and fish. So very full after that.

Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is a sandy beach with volcanic rock formations. The Pura Tanah Lot is a temple on its rocky island. It is a place to watch a perfect sunset but I left too early see it. The place is rather crowded with people trying to get the best shot. We had to wait for our turn.

Other Foodies

The nasi goreng and satay tasted similar to the one we have in Malaysia. We did not try the masakan Padang which is mainly for the muslim Balinese although it looks good from what we can see in the window. This sums up the reviews for the food in Bali.

Inna Putri Hotel breakfast

Having breakfast at the same hotel for 6 days is a bore. Daily choices does not vary much. I wish we could just cancel the package & book a hotel somewhere else.

Bali Deli

Bali Deli is the Seminyak expats choice for a place to pick up food and drink items. There are "supermarket", coffeeshop & bakery, restaurant and wine cellar all under one roof. You can get all kinds of European & Australian goods here. We tried the pastry and drinks at the cafe but think that its not satisfying. I would rather buy them off the counter.

Cafe Moka

A french restaurant at Seminyak, perfect for breakfast. They serve fresh bakeries and good coffee. There are magazines to read too. A nice place to relax while nibbling on the cute delicacies.

Cafe Wayan

There's a lot to choose from then the variety of cakes. I tried the mango cake that comes with pineapple sauce. The taste is heavenly! I still dream of it sometimes...yummy... I have banana juice with this cake. Fantastic fruity taste all in one!

Bebek Bengil

Bebek Bengil, Dirty Duck Diner in Ubud is named after the ducks playing in the rice fields next door. We tried the crispy fried duck, the main specialty here. The duck taste good but is rather small in size. I'm amazed how big rice field inside the restaurant is. We stroll on the pavement along the rice field to admire the view before lunch is served.

Poppies Restaurant

The Poppies restaurant on Poppies Gang (lane) near Kuta Beach has been well-established for over 25 years. I tried the Poppies Fish Chowder which has been a favourite since 1973. Tan ordered Ikan Pepes which is a filleted fish with Balinese spices, wrapped in a banana leaf. The food taste real good and the environment is lovely. Its like eating in a beautiful garden.

Made's Warung

We stop by at Made's Warung for a cake and ice lemon tea. It is situated at Jalan Pantai in central Kuta near the Bemo Corner. Its a famous hang out place though the cake taste average.

The 4 eyed-rabbit is born. Looking a little grumpy, dont you think.

Cafe Lotus bali restaurant

Cafe Lotus is one of the famous cafe in Ubud, Bali. The view is splendid. It is build by one of the well known local architect. I tried the herbal drink which is suppose to cool you down.

Jimbaran Seafood

For couples, don't forget to have a romantic candlelit dinner at Jimbaran. You get to sit on the beach, watch the sunset, dine on delicious seafood, while listening to the band sing your favourite romantic song. All kinds of fresh fish, squid, crabs, prawns, and lobsters are prepared on the open grill (burning coconut husks instead of charcoal) with exotic herbs and spices. There's no mosquitos or flies to irritate you. You can choose to eat at the tourist place or local's place. One is more expensive than the other.

Babi Guling

A really tasty roasted pork rice at Ubud. This is the best Babi Guling in Bali. Gotta have it with teh botol. Lots of people are waiting to be seated. You need to sit on the floor and share a big table with others.

Bubba Gump Restaurant

For those who've seen Forest Gump, you will know where this idea come from. The food look real good but I wasn't hungry when passing by this place. This restaurant is located near the Kuta Beach.

Famous mountain-top restaurant

A lunch with mountain view... Can't get better than this. Cool breeze blowing on the face while biting into a delicious satay. It's a must try. This is located at Kintamani. However, aggressive hawkers can spoil your mood. You can see them outside the restaurant and by the road, waiting to attack you with their goods. Just ignore & avoid them.

Butterfly Globe Bali Coffee

To start the day, I went for coffee tasting at Butterfly Globe Coffee factory. The coffee beans are of high quality. The coffee is a bit too strong for my liking.
